Echocardiography
Echocardiography is the study of the internal structure and function of the heart using sound waves (ultrasound). It is performed with an instrument (transducer) that transmits sound waves. The transducer is applied to different parts of the chest wall and the walls and valves of the heart are examined in different positions.
